Notification Settings

Alert notification settings in the Tive platform allow you to configure how real-time alerts from the Tive platform are delivered to you. Depending on the goods you are shipping and your role in your team’s supply chain, your preferences may differ.

Notification Methods

Most often, users configure settings to deliver alerts via e-mail. However, both e-mail and SMS alerts can be configured to opt in or opt out of in your profile settings.

Email: 
  • Receive alerts at the email used as your Tive platform login.

Text Message (SMS) (Plus Tier only)

  • Add your country and mobile number.
  • Availability depends on the country and carrier support.

Note: Please review the summary of SMS coverage by country at the end of this article, but note that we cannot fully confirm SMS delivery success until we attempt to send a message to that destination. Please test SMS alerts in your countries of operation before relying on SMS alerts for a shipment. 

How It Works

Edit Notification Preferences

  1. Go to Profile > Settings
  2. Add or update your phone number with the correct country selected
  3. Turn your alert and email notifications on/off
  4. Save your preferences


What Do Alerts E-Mails Look Like?

Once an alert has been triggered, you’ll receive an email from no-reply@tive.io with the following subject format:

Shipment-Based Alerts

Tracker-Based Alerts

SMS Delivery Reliability

  • SMS delivery varies by country and carrier
  • Below is a reference list of message delivery rates by country

Countries with High Delivery Rates

  • Mexico: 99.78% delivered
  • United Kingdom: 99.94% delivered
  • Canada: 99.96% delivered
  • Japan: 99.20% delivered
  • Germany: 87.70% delivered

Best Practices

  • Validate by Country: Always check SMS delivery reliability before depending on text alerts.
  • Use Email as Backup: Ensure email notifications are enabled in case SMS fails.
  • Test Configurations: Simulate alerts to verify that both email and SMS work as expected.
