Completing a Tive Tag Shipment

When you complete a Tive Tag shipment, the data is extracted from the Tag and the shipment is marked “Complete” in the Tive platform. If you have configured an automatic end-of-trip report, it will be sent to the specified recipients. Alerts will also no longer be generated on the completed shipment.

Note: Completing a shipment does not stop the Tive Tag from logging data. This means that you can always recover data that accumulates after the end of a shipment by reading the Tag again.

Who should use the Complete function?

The Complete function should be used by users at the destination (or receiving facility), as this operation effectively marks the end of the shipment. You can learn how to create specific roles for these types of users (i.e., receivers) here.

How to Complete a Tive Tag Shipment

Start by opening the Tive Tag app and signing in with the email and password associated with your Tive account.

Don’t know your email and password? Check your email to see if you’ve received an invite to the Tive Platform. If you haven’t received an invite, reach out to your Tive account administrator.

2. Once you’re logged in, touch the Complete Shipment button.

3. You should see the “Ready to Scan” window. Hold your phone near the Tag and wait to see a “Successfully read Tag” message as shown below.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

I don’t see the Complete Shipment button. What should I do?

This is likely due to the permission not being enabled on your account. Check with your Tive account administrator and ensure your user role has the “Mark Shipment as Complete” permission enabled.

What happens if I complete a Tag shipment twice in a row?

The second complete operation will only read the Tag. Any new data that has been captured after the completion of the first shipment will appear under the tracker details page in the platform (just search the Tag ID in the platform to find it).
