When viewing a shipment, you have the option to view its Status, Alerts, Reports, or Details.
Click “Status” to view all of the graphs that are associated with that shipment.
The main screen displays a map of your shipment’s route. The left side of the screen displays data and graphs associated with your shipment.
Basic Map Controls:
- Use your mouse to drag the map to view different locations.
- To zoom in and out, click the + and - buttons on the top left corner of the map.
- Toggle between Map (default) and Satellite image with the layers icon in the bottom-left corner.
These additional functions are available by clicking the three breadcrumbs in the top-right of the map:
- Show Directional Arrows: draw arrows in the direction of travel
- Show Additional Accuracy Information: see GPS, Cellular, Wi-Fi, Vessel points (special feature)
Understanding the Map Points
The Shipment’s route is represented by a line connecting several color-coded points.
- A blue pulsing point indicates the current location
- A blue point indicates the currently selected data point
- A green point indicates origin location (for shipments only)
- A red point indicates the final location between a defined data range
The three breadcrumb dots in the upper right corner may allow selecting additional accuracy information:
- See GPS points: shows high-accuracy outdoor GPS location points in Blue
- See Cellular points: shows low-accuracy Cellular location points in Green
- See Wi-Fi points: shows high-accuracy urban Wi-Fi location points in Orange
- See Composite Points: shows high accuracy location combining Wi-Fi and Cellular location points in Purple
- Show Vessel points: shows information based on Vessel ID (MMSI) in Grey
This is a premium feature available when logged in; it is not visible when using the Shipment Search Portal or Share Shipment link.
Reading the Graphs
Before opening any graphs, you can select the date or data range by clicking on the calendar pull-down selector on the top of the screen, and either selecting the Full Shipment Duration or a custom date range.
Once you have verified that you are looking at the data from the correct time, you can click on any of the data streams along the left side of the screen to expand the graph. Once the graph is expanded, you can explore the data collected for the selected date range.
Shipment Data
The first two graphs indicate the remaining distance and time to destination, which is calculated automatically based on the Ship-To location for the shipment.
Sensor Data
You can access the following data streams from the device sensors:
Units |
Interpretation Tips |
|
Temperature |
°F/°C |
Temperature fluctuations may mean the shipment has been removed from the container or other insulation. Compare temperature data to expected temperature settings and/or local weather forecasts. |
Humidity |
% |
Humidity fluctuations may mean the shipment has been removed from the container or other insulation. Typical comfortable outdoor humidity levels are around 40%, but expected humidity can vary significantly based on location. |
Pressure |
psi |
Pressure fluctuations could indicate changes in altitude as well as changes in the pressure of the container or other packaging materials. |
Light |
lux |
Light will fluctuate based on time of day if the shipment is exposed to the outdoors. Sudden fluctuations in light may indicate that a shipment has been moved into or out of a dark container. Below are some examples of illuminance
|
Acceleration |
G's |
This data stream indicates any changes in acceleration experienced in transit. Spikes in motion activity may indicate that a shipment came to a sudden stop or fall, or experienced some other sudden movement. Read our Tracker FAQ: Shock, Orientation, Motion |
Battery |
% |
This data stream indicates the battery life as a percentage. Battery life will decrease slowly over time and will decrease more sharply with each transmission. Once battery life is below a certain threshold, it will stop transmission and maintain low battery life for as long as possible before being recharged. |
Orientation |
(none) |
The three data streams display changes in orientation in the X, Y, and Z planes. A graphical representation on the right side of the screen helps you interpret what the orientation looks like. Changes in orientation may indicate that the shipment has been jostled or moved around. |
Sensor Units
Data can be viewed in U.S. Standard Units, Metric Units, or Custom Units. To configure your units settings, navigate to Profile Settings, scroll down to Sensor Units and click “Manage” on the right side of the screen. Select the units in which you would like data to be displayed and click “Save”.
