Tive's shipment oriented Platform offers many functionalities that are designed to make your life easier and save you time when monitoring your active shipments.
The All Shipments page offers an overview of your shipments based on their current state (In Transit, Upcoming or Completed) along with their location on the map. For active shipments, you can monitor each shipment's current and historic status by clicking on it.
The Shipment page will display the following information:
- Last Update
- Current Location
- Delivery Date (ETA)
- Estimated Time Left
- Distance to Destination
On the same page, the tabs found below will allow you to view more detailed information about the Sensors, Alerts recorded, generate and download existing Reports, and view more Details.
Click “Sensors” to view all of the data graphs that are associated with your selected shipment.
Basic Map Controls:
- You can collapse the side panel from the main display to have a full view of the map
- Use your mouse to drag the map to view different locations
- To zoom in and out, click the + and - buttons on the top left corner of the map
- Toggle between Map (default) and Satellite image with the layers icon in the top-right corner
- Directional Arrows and Additional Positioning Information (GPS, Cellular, Wi-Fi, Vessel and AWB coordinates) can be displayed by clicking the Location Methods icon in the top-right corner
Understanding the Map Points
The shipment’s route is represented by a blue line across the map. If shipment legs are in use, the map will display them as little dots connecting the blue line.
- A blue pulsing point indicates the current location
- A blue point indicates the currently selected data point
- A green point indicates origin location
- A red point indicates the final location between a defined data range
The Location Methods option in the upper right corner may allow selecting additional accuracy information:
- See GPS points: shows high-accuracy outdoor GPS location points in Blue
- See Cellular points: shows low-accuracy Cellular location points in Green
- See Wi-Fi points: shows high-accuracy urban Wi-Fi location points in Orange
- See Composite Points: shows high accuracy location combining Wi-Fi and Cellular location points in Purple
- See Vessel points: shows information based on Vessel ID (MMSI) in Grey
- See Air points: shows information based on AWB coordinates in Light Blue
- See Direction Arrows: draw arrows in the direction of travel
This is a premium feature available when logged in; it is not visible when using the Shipment Search Portal or Share Shipment link.
Sensors: Reading the Graphs
By default, the Sensor graphs will display the minimum, maximum and average value reported for each sensor during your shipment.
To view more detailed information about each sensor, simply click on the graph of the sensor you're interested in expanding.
Before opening any graphs, you can select the date or data range by clicking on the pull-down selector on the top of the Sensors screen, and either selecting the Full Shipment Duration or a custom range.
Once you have your desired date(s) selected, expand the graphs and explore the data collected for the selected date range.
Hovering the mouse across the graph will allow you to view the exact measured sensor information for any transmission point along with the date and time:
Sensor Data Interpretation
You can access the following data streams from the device sensors:
Sensor |
Units |
Interpretation Tips |
Temperature |
°F/°C |
Temperature fluctuations may mean the shipment has been removed from the container or other insulation. Compare temperature data to expected temperature settings and/or local weather forecasts. |
Humidity |
% |
Humidity fluctuations may mean the shipment has been removed from the container or other insulation. Typical comfortable outdoor humidity levels are around 40%, but expected humidity can vary significantly based on location. |
Pressure |
psi |
Pressure fluctuations could indicate changes in altitude as well as changes in the pressure of the container or other packaging materials. |
Light |
lux |
Light will fluctuate based on time of day if the shipment is exposed to the outdoors. Sudden fluctuations in light may indicate that a shipment has been moved into or out of a dark container. Below are some examples of illuminance
|
Motion |
G's |
This data stream indicates any changes in acceleration experienced in transit. Spikes in motion activity may indicate that a shipment came to a sudden stop or fall, or experienced some other sudden movement. Read our Tracker FAQ: Shock, Orientation, Motion |
Battery |
% |
This data stream indicates the battery life as a percentage. Battery life will decrease slowly over time and will decrease more sharply with each transmission. Once battery life is below a certain threshold, it will stop transmission and maintain low battery life for as long as possible before being recharged. |
Orientation |
(none) |
The three data streams display changes in orientation in the X, Y, and Z planes. A graphical representation on the right side of the screen helps you interpret what the orientation looks like. Changes in orientation may indicate that the shipment has been jostled or moved around. |
Alert Events: List and Graph
In addition to sending notifications to the users assigned in the Alert Preset, all triggered alerts will also be visible as Events. Events display the alert type, location and timestamp for when the alert was triggered. For example, if you set an alert to notify you when a shipment reaches a certain location, the event will be stored in the Events list once the alert is triggered.
Click on an event to display the event location on the map.
