Managing Permissions for Tag Shippers and Receivers

Configure a User Role for Tag Shippers

If you want to simplify the mobile experience for your shippers (users responsible for starting Tive Tags) and prevent them from accidentally completing shipments, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Click on your initials in the top right corner, then click Organization.
  2. Select the Users tab, then click Manage Roles > Create New Role
  3. Choose a name for your role (i.e., AppOnly Shipper) and make the following adjustments:
    1. Under the Organization Permissions tab, disable Tive web app access.
    2. Under the Shipment Permissions tab, ensure that the Start shipment ability is enabled and that the Mark shipment as complete ability is disabled.
    3. Click Create and apply this role to any user at an origin location who will solely be responsible for starting Tag shipments.

Configure a User Role for Tag Receivers

If you know who your receivers are and want to prevent your Tags from being read by anyone, you can follow the steps below to create a “receiver” role. If you don’t know who your receiver will be, check out Anonymous Reading.

  1. Click on your initials in the top right corner, then click Organization.
  2. Select the Users tab, then click Manage Roles > Create New Role
  3. Choose a name for your role (i.e., AppOnly Receiver) and make the following adjustments:
    1. Under the Organization Permissions tab, disable Tive web app access.
    2. Under the Shipment Permissions tab, ensure that the Mark shipment as complete ability is enabled and that the Start shipment ability is disabled.
    3. Click Create and apply this role to any user at an origin location who will solely be responsible for starting Tag shipments.
