Sensor Data and Charts
Why Use Sensor Data Charts
Sensor charts provide detailed visibility into your shipment's environmental conditions. They offer access to real-time and historical sensor data, helping you monitor temperature, humidity, light, shock, and battery status. By using these tools, you can identify potential issues, ensure compliance, and protect sensitive products from damage or spoilage.
How It Works
After selecting a specific shipment or tracker from the list on the shipments or trackers pages, you have the option to view a shipment's Sensors, Alerts, Reports, or Details. Clicking “Sensors” provides an overview of all available sensor charts. These charts are interactive and provide granular insight into the condition of your goods during transport.
Navigating Sensor Charts
- Adjust the data range under the “Full Shipment Duration” dropdown. This updates all sensor charts simultaneously.
- Click any chart to expand it on the right side of the screen for detailed viewing.
- Hover your cursor over the line in the sensor chart to see specific values at that point in time.
- Right-click and drag to zoom into specific timelines.
- At the top of the chart, you can view min, max, and average values for the selected range.
- Use ‘Fullscreen’, in the top right-hand corner, to enlarge the chart.
- Click ‘X’ to remove the chart from view.
Interpreting Sensor Charts
Each chart displays data points collected during the tracker’s measurement intervals. Data points become visible as soon as the tracker is activated. Clicking on any data point in a chart will:
- Update the location, timestamp, and coordinates on the left panel to provide additional context about the shipment at that time.
- Update the map to that specific location address.
- Sync the rest of the sensor charts to reflect the same measurement point on the left panel.
Interpreting The Shipment Map
- The Home button resets the view to display the full shipment route.
- Use the “+” and “–” buttons to zoom in and out of the map or scroll on your trackpad/mouse.
- Toggle between Map and Satellite views for different visual perspectives.
- Directional arrows show the shipment’s movement and help trace its route.
- Location methods are color-coded for clarity as described below. Read more about locations and location accuracy here.
- GPS: Blue
- Cell: Green
- Wi-Fi: Orange
- Composite (Wi-Fi + Cell): Purple
- Vessel: Grey
- Air: Grey
Best Practices
Expand Charts for Detailed Analysis- Click any chart to open a larger view. This lets you drill down into specific time periods, hover for exact values at specific points in time, and get more visual clarity on fluctuations throughout the shipment journey that might not be obvious in the smaller chart.
- Click + drag to zoom into specific timeframes when investigating spikes, drops, or unusual behavior. This helps isolate potential issues and makes troubleshooting faster and more effective.
