Shipment List and Map

Why Use Tive's Shipment Page for Real-Time Monitoring?

Tive’s Shipment Page empowers users to monitor, filter, and respond to critical shipment issues in real time. Whether you're trying to prevent product spoilage, delays, or route deviations, the platform helps your team stay in control at every stage.

Key benefits:

  • Effortless Issue Prioritization: Color-coded alerts highlight critical shipments without the need to review individual shipment details.
  • Faster Response Time: Instantly identify high-risk shipments and take proactive action to avoid delays, damage, or compliance violations.
  • Real-Time Monitoring: Track conditions such as temperature excursions, delays, or shocks as they occur.
  • Minimized Risk & Loss: Address issues before they escalate, protecting product integrity and reducing cost.
  • User-Friendly Interface: An intuitive map and list view make navigation and alert response seamless.
  • Advanced Filtering Capabilities: Quickly narrow down shipment lists using filters based on alert location, alert type, arrival time, and on-time status.

How It Works

Color-Coded Alert Pills

The shipment list and map display color-coded alert pills to help users easily identify and prioritize shipments with active alerts.

  • Dark Red: Shipments with at least one alert in the "Not Started" state.
  • Pale Red: Shipments with all alerts marked "In Progress" or "Auto-Resolved." These stay pale red until shipment completion.
  • Green: Shipments with no alerts or where all alerts are resolved.
  • Gray: Completed shipments showing the total number of triggered alerts.

Clicking an alert pill opens the shipment’s alert tab, where users can view and update alert statuses.

Alert States

Alert states are found in the Resolution Tab within the alert details panel and help teams track progress on resolving shipment issues:

  • Not Started: Default for all new active alerts.
  • In Progress: Indicates that the alert is being actively investigated.
  • Auto-Resolved: Assigned automatically when sensor readings return to acceptable thresholds.
  • Resolved: Manually set once the alert has been addressed.

Shipment Map

The map displays shipment alerts using color-coded clusters:

  • Hovering over a cluster shows a summary of active alert statuses.
  • Zooming in updates the count and details of alerts.
  • Completed shipments always show a gray alert pill with the total alert count.

Shipment List Filters (Available in Plus Tier and above)

To help prioritize shipments more efficiently, you can now apply filters in the shipment list. This enables targeted views based on several criteria:

1. Shipment Origin and Destination (available in Essential tier and above)

The Origin and Destination filter provides a powerful way to narrow down your shipment list. You can select cities from a dropdown list, populated by all the locations you've configured in your account. This allows you to view shipments originating from a specific city, destined for a specific city, or a combination of both (e.g., Boston to California). Additionally, the "Show delivered shipments only" option allows you to refine your view further, displaying shipments that have reached their destination geofence but are not yet marked as completed

2. Type of Tracker (available in Essential tier and above)

Filter based on whether the shipment uses a real-time tracker or Tive Tags. If you are in a Plus tier and above, the filter is available under the ‘More’ dropdown menu.

3. Shared Shipments (available in Essential tier and above)

Filter shipments based on whether they are created by you or by others. The option “created by others” also includes shipments that have been created in other organizations but shared with you via the shipment collaborator function. If you are in a Plus tier and above, the filter is available under the ‘More’ dropdown menu.

4. Filter by Alert Location (available in Plus tier and above)

Filters shipments based on the location where alerts were triggered, enabling targeted analysis of issues occurring while the shipment is in transit. The only option available is “In-Transit”. When selected and applied, only shipments with alerts that have occurred in transit will be populated in the list.

  • Option available: In-Transit
  • "In-transit" alerts exclude those triggered only at the origin or final destination.
  • Alerts triggered during intermediate legs or that continue beyond origin/destination are also considered in-transit.

5. Filter by Alert Type (available in Plus tier and above)

Available in both the In Transit and Completed shipment tabs, the Alert Type filter helps you quickly identify shipments that have experienced specific issues. This is incredibly useful for those managing a high volume of shipments, as it provides a targeted way to pinpoint particular problems or combinations of problems.

You have two powerful options when applying this filter:

  • Contains Any: This option will display shipments that have triggered any one of your selected alert types.
  • Contains All: This option is particularly valuable for identifying shipments where all of your selected alert types have occurred. For example, if you are using a combination of Light, Prolonged Stop, and Shock alerts, you can filter shipments that have had all three alert types triggered. This allows for a more targeted and informed investigation into incidents where multiple indicators suggest a serious issue.

Note:

  • Available in the In Transit and Completed shipment tabs.
  • Alert types include: Temperature, Probe, Humidity, Shock, Light, Prolonged Stop, Route Deviation, Departure Delay, Arrival Delay, Battery, Connectivity, and Geofence.
  • Excluded alert types: Arrival, Departure, Inbound.
  • In the In Transit tab, manually resolved alerts are excluded.
  • In the Completed tab, manually resolved alerts are included.

6. Filter by Shipment Arrival Timing (available in Plus tier and above)

The arrival timing filter helps you quickly narrow down the shipment list to those arriving today or within a few days, enabling more effective planning and preparation for receivers. All selections are single-select options.

  • In Transit tab: the time when a shipment is arriving is based on the ETA for that shipment. If no ETA is available, those shipments will be excluded from the results whenever this filter is used.
    • Available options: Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Next Week, This Month
  • Completed tab: Based on actual arrival time or manual completion time
    • Options: Today, Yesterday, This Week, Last Week, This Month, Last Month.
  • Not available in the Upcoming tab.
  • Time zones are based on your web browser location settings.

7. Filter by On-Time Status (available in Plus tier and above)

The on-time status filter helps you quickly see if a shipment is running late or early, allowing for more accurate planning and preparation for appointment windows and receivers.

  • Available in the In Transit tab only.
  • Options: Late/Early by more than 30 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day, 3 days, or 7 days.
  • Shipments must have an ETA to be included. Late shipments are calculated based on whether the ETA is past the scheduled arrival date of the final destination. Early shipments are calculated based on whether the ETA is before the scheduled arrival date. Note that to make use of the filters, shipments must have a scheduled arrival date set when they are created.
  • Works across all transportation modes (Road, Ocean, Air, Rail).

Filter Behavior

  • Filters can be combined together to further narrow down the set of results returned. This means that all criteria selected must be met for the shipment to be returned.
  • Filters update the shipment count on the tabs.
  • The alert pill count remains unchanged regardless of filters.
  • Filters override map boundaries and will zoom the map out to display all matching shipments.

Key Points to Know

  • Arrival, Departure, and Inbound alerts are excluded from alert counts but are still visible in the Alert Tab.
  • Alert States can be updated manually via the resolution tab (except auto-resolved alerts).
  • Completed shipments are shown with a gray pill and include full alert history.

Best Practices

  • Regularly review shipments marked with Dark Red or Pale Red colors for timely interventions.
  • Encourage teams to update alert statuses regularly so the platform accurately reflects current priorities.
  • Use alert filters in combination with shipment locations to drill into high-risk routes or problematic regions.
  • For better planning, use arrival timing and on-time filters to forecast and mitigate delays.
