Download the Tive Tag App
To start and read Tive Tags, you’ll need to download our free and easy-to-use smartphone app, the Tive Tag app. Designed with simplicity in mind, this app makes the process of temperature logging seamless with automatic data uploads and clear information interfaces. The minimum requirements for using the app are that you have an iPhone 8 or above, with the ability to read NFC.
Before you get started
Before you start your journey, or before you want to start or read a Tag, we recommend that you walk through these steps:
-
Turn on location services for a better experience.
-
Connect your iPhone to a mobile network or a Wi-Fi hotspot.
-
We recommend that you remove any metallic casings from your iPhone. These may interfere with the communication with the Tag.
-
The NFC module in most iPhones is located at the top end of the device, near the camera module.
-
When communicating with the Tag hold the upper end of the phone (camera area) over the lower end of the Tag. Move your device slowly around until your device can establish a connection with the Tag.
-
Keep the device close to the Tag when scanning, 1 cm - 2 cm is recommended.
-
It is also important that the iPhone is kept still during any scan operation.

-

Reading a Tag when logged out (anonymous reading)
Reading Tags does not require the user to be logged in (anonymous readings). In some cases, it is not necessary to show all data, and for some, it may be sensitive data so the user should not be allowed to see them. These settings can be set in the Tive Tag Portal and are referred to as Display results (System < Customer setup < Display result in-app (dropdown)).

Tive Tag supports both Celsius and Fahrenheit. Follow these instructions on how to change them.
1. Select “More” from the menu at the bottom. Tap “Temperature unit”.
