What is the estimated battery lifetime of the Tag?
The Tag has a 12-month battery lifetime from production when stored in stock. The Tag will use its battery when it is actively logging temperatures, and lifetime then depends on both logging intervals and the environment of measuring.
What is the Tag’s warranty?
The product warranty period is 1 year and commences with the date of shipment from Tive. All data gathered from the product after the warranty is void cannot be guaranteed by Tive and exported data will be marked as such.
What is the temperature logging interval of the Tag?
The logging interval can be set from every minute up to every 18 hours. The most frequently used logging interval is every 15 minutes.
Can anyone read my Tag?
You can set the security level you prefer on the Tive Tag Portal. You can decide who should be able to read your Tag with the Tive Tag app, or whether they have to login before reading.
You can also set which information is displayed on the screen when a user reads your Tag, such as 1: Temperature graph, 2: “Thank you for reading – limits are exceeded”, or 3: “Thank you for reading”.
Can I read the Tag without a network connection?
No, the Tive Tag app needs internet connection to validate the temperature data collected from the Tag.
What is the memory capacity of the Tag?
The maximum number of temperature log points is 4,864. If you choose to log temperatures every 15 minutes, the maximum capacity will be reached after 50 days, and then the Tag will stop logging temperatures. It will not overwrite its memory.
Is the battery in the Tag safe to be used in air freight?
Yes, our printed battery is not a lithium-ion battery, but is made from zinc metal and manganese dioxide, and is allowed in air freight.
How is the temperature data uploaded to the Tive Tag Portal?
The temperature data is uploaded automatically to the Tive Tag Portal when you read a Tag using the Tive Tag app on your smartphone. The data is always uploaded before the temperature graph is displayed on the device screen, hence it’s not possible to manipulate the results.
What is the temperature accuracy of the Tag?
The measured temperatures have an accuracy of
+50°C to -10°C: ±0.5° accuracy
-10°C to -30°C: ±1°C accuracy
Do I have to stick the Tag on the outside of my package?
No, you decide where to stick the Tag. It will log the ambient temperatures of where it is placed. It can be read through a fish box and at least through two layers of standard cardboard.
What happens if the temperature limits are exceeded?
A report will be generated automatically from the Tive Tag Portal, and the temperature report will be sent by email to notify you that the limits are exceeded.
Can you link the Tag to a specific shipment or package?
Yes, you can assign custom fields like pallet ID, order number, AWB-number, or even existing barcodes, to the Tag. In the event of damaged goods, you can document it with a photo which is uploaded to the Tive Tag Portal and added to the report.
How do I start and read the Tag?
Tive Tag smartphone app can start and read the Tag. Download the app by scanning the QR code on the bottom corner of the tag with you smartphone camera.
Can the Tag be reused?
The Tag is mainly designed for single use. However, depending on the type of supply chain you operate (e.g. closed loop), it can be used up to 5 times, at an additional cost per journey.
