Tive Reveal: Overview

Why Use Tive Reveal?

Reveal helps you turn shipment data into clear, reliable insights that you can act on with confidence to improve performance across your supply chain.

More specifically, Reveal enables you to:

  • Reduce Risk: Anticipate and prevent problems by seeing where issues are most likely to occur, so you can keep shipments moving and protect customer commitments.
  • Avoid Unexpected Costs: Reveal highlights lane conditions and carrier performance, so you can adjust routes to prevent fees, fines, and costly rework.
  • Save Time and Resources: Spend less time cleaning data and more time making decisions about routing, packaging, and carrier selection that improve your operations.

How It Works

Shipment data can often be messy. Late shipment data entries, imprecise geofences, or shipments that got rerouted can distort metrics. Reveal fixes this by cleaning and enriching every completed shipment to generate insights that reflect what actually happened and can be confidently used in decision-making.

What Reveal Provides:

Clean, Reliable Data: Reveal validates every completed shipment by confirming accurate departures, leg transitions, and arrival data. It smooths tracker anomalies and automatically removes incomplete or invalid shipments (i.e., shipments that never departed or reached their destination). This ensures your metrics are accurate, trustworthy, and ready to use. Read more about data cleaning.

Advanced Metrics: Reveal provides advanced analytics, on both the lane and carrier level, that would otherwise be complex and time-consuming to build on your own, such as:

  • Time Out of Temperature Range: See how long shipments spent outside their safe range during each phase of the journey to evaluate product risk and carrier performance.
  • On-time Performance: Understand your risk of late fees by lane, route, and carrier so you can make better routing and carrier decisions.
  • Time Stopped During Transit (coming soon): Analyze where prolonged stops occur to help diagnose slow lanes and evaluate alternatives such as team drivers or different routes.

Tive Network Intelligence: Beyond your own shipments, Reveal provides additional insights from millions of anonymized journeys across the Tive network. This broader dataset helps you put your results in context and make confident decisions:

  • See where you stand: Benchmark your lanes against industry performance to spot competitive weaknesses or strengths.
  • Explore new route options: Evaluate alternative paths you haven’t used before, backed by data from the Tive Network, that could improve your performance.

Key Points to Know

Tive Reveal includes three core products:

  • Lane Insights: Find underperforming lanes and confirm trends like duration increases or temperature deviations. Drill into specific lanes to diagnose root causes and uncover opportunities for improvement.
  • Carrier Insights: Compare carriers objectively across key performance metrics, providing clear evidence for selection, performance management, and QBR discussions.
  • Alert Heatmaps: Pinpoint where alerts occur most frequently to reduce noise and focus your attention on the issues that truly impact shipment quality and risk.
  • Tive Data Cleaning: By default, 'Exclude Invalid Shipments' is enabled to filter out rerouted or incomplete shipments. You can toggle this setting off to include all of your shipments at any time.

Getting Started with Reveal

  • Open Lanes Overview to identify which of your lanes may be at risk.
  • Navigate to the Single Lane view to confirm the issues, compare performance to the Tive Network, and pinpoint root causes—whether it’s carriers, routes, or something else.
  • Switch to Carriers Overview to see which of your carriers are most and least reliable and compliant with SOPs.
  • Drill down into a specific carrier in the Single Carrier tab to better understand drivers of a carrier’s performance or prepare for an upcoming QBR.

Best Practices

  • Enter as much data as possible during shipment creation: The more details you include—such as carrier, precise addresses, geofences, and scheduled arrival times—the stronger your insights will be.
  • Keep Exclude Invalid Shipments on: This setting is enabled by default and ensures your metrics are clean and accurate.
  • Use Shipment Stage filters: Focus your analysis on the part of the journey that matters most (at origin, in-transit, or at destination) to get the most relevant results.
